The Wingdigger (TM) is the most effective tool for spreading air through-out your compost material, accelerating the compost process. Fresh air and water are needed to feed the bacteria and worms that are essential for creating usable compost.

In order for the compost process to occur, add roughly equal amounts of “GREENS” (yard waste, kitchen scraps like fruit and veggie waste) and “BROWNS” (dry leaves, shredded newspaper, sawdust or other dry organic material), moisture, and fresh air.

How to use the Windigger ™:

• Each time you add fresh material to the bin, push the Wingdigger(TM) straight down into the older, bacteria rich compost and pull it straight out.
• This action, with no bending or twisting, will deposit the material from the wings onto the fresh material.
• Repeat this action in several places around the top of the contents to spread the bacteria and keep the pile loose for air circulation.
